Why this site exists

This is not legal advice

Source: public accounts, district findings letter, & the independent investigator's report

The documented record

Names of district staff are omitted below and replaced with their role, since the point isn't any one person — it's the pattern, and the district's own response to it. Entries marked with a red dot reflect findings corroborated by the districts own records or investigation.

A practical starting point, not legal advice

What to do if this is happening to your family

Every family's situation is different, and deadlines vary by claim type. This is a general map of the process, written for a parent who just found out something happened and doesn't yet know where to start.

Family to family

Share your story, find other families

Submitted stories are reviewed before anything is posted publicly. We do this so nothing goes up that could put a family, especially a child, at risk — including deciding case by case whether to publish any contact info you share with us.

Before you submit: if your story involves your child, please write it from your own perspective and list your own email rather than your child's. Avoid including your child's full name if you can describe the incident without it. You're always welcome to submit anonymously using just initials or "a Pinole Valley family."

Leave blank to be listed as “A WCCUSD family” if we publish your story.
Only shown publicly if you say it's okay and we decide to publish it alongside your story.
